How lucky are we? The Howlett Boat Paddle Ukuleles are incredibly well documented..
This Boat Paddle was made in February 2016 and purchased new in mid-2016. Everyone loves Koa and this is no exception, definitley one of the more sought after models. Pete designed the Boat Paddle originally as a teaching instrument for building so despite its modest somewhat 'take it or leave it' shape the finish is world class and the Ukulele sounds just sublime.
This model has what looks to be a rosewood fingerboard (those were the days) and has both a Corian nut and saddle, wooden strap button and some high end black button geared tuners.
The instrument comes in an unbranded pod case which is an acceptable fit considering the mis match of the Ukulele and cases shapes. Just a heads up - the image of the front is not an optical illusion, one side of the instrument has a curve in the shape ever so slightly different to the other.
These are becoming incredibly difficult to get - in fact this is only the second time we have had one of these traded in. Somebody is in for a treat.
