AnueNue Lion Orange UT Solid Cedar and AA Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele with Case #1
AnueNue really know how to bring something completely left-field to the table... You've seen the Moonbird, you've seen the Lightbird and you've seen the Koa bird but now we are delighted to introduce AnueNue's brand new Lion Tenor. Also known as the LOUT (Lion Orange Ukulele Tenor), this Ukulele features a solid Cedar top with solid AA Hawaiian Koa back and sides, it still has that gorgeous spalted maple rosette by the sound hole that we all love from the Moonbird and also has the slotted headstock we all love from the Koa UT1K model... It comes in a special orange limited edition hard case and oh yeh, the Ukulele itself has a pearlescent bright orange top!
It's beautiful too; it's definitely not for the purists out there but this Ukulele sounds excellent, like a tiny high end classical guitar because Cedar is just that bit softer than spruce and that lends this wood perfectly to a softer touch and creates some gorgeous undertones and harmonics. Paired with the Koa which gives the whole thing a more conventional Hawaiian sleepy and dreamy Ukulele sound than the sister model the Moonbird UT200.
There is something about this Uke, there really is... a real triumph of style and substance. Here in the west, very few of us will be familiar with the band Lion for which this instrument is a signature model but regardless the fingerboard lion inlay is a lovely touch and this Ukulele does a fantastic job in flying the flag for AnueNue and what new models the company have in store in the coming years.
