The Rebel never cease to amaze us with the inventiveness of what comes out of their workshop in Thailand. Whenever a batch of their limited edition Q-Series models arrives, it's always exciting to see what newly imagined creations lie within.

For a decade now; Rebel have produced concept instruments in extremely limited numbers. These instruments are all unique with underlying themes such as changing one wood combination or the position of a soundhole. The never ending search for improvements in the sound and feel of a ukulele is a big mission of Rebel's.

The lovelace BELL/MG soprano ukulele is a part of The Rebel's latest additions to the Q-Series range. It features the same gorgeously holographic mango wood the top and back of this sweet and savoury bell shaped soprano, however the fun begins when we turn slightly off axis and discover the bright contrasting spruce sides. A fresh perspective and striking aesthetic addition to the ukulele world.

The bell shape lends a more rounded dynamic to the classic soprano sound, balanced in a fresh and interesting way by the sweetness of the mango top, brightened both visually and audibly by the spruce sides. The Rebel haven't just tweaked the wood combinations for the body of the lovelace though. This limited edition model also includes a most beautifully grained marrango wood neck.

They have still of course included features we have come to know and love from The Rebel. The high gloss finish, the hard ebony head plate with The Rebel's famous geometric wooden bird logo inlayed and contrasting triangular fretboard markers tether us to the roots of what we love about The Rebel in the first place, with the new and exciting additions shining a hopeful and eagerly anticipated future for what they will dream up next.
