This Thomastik-Infeld ukulele string is a very good option to use as a wound low G string on tenor ukuleles.

Like the Fremont squeakless string, it is flat wound with a very smooth texture. It does not squeak when your fingers move over it, and does not boom as much as traditional wire wound strings.

Depending on the instrument it is fitted to, the nut might need a little bit of fettling to make it fit perfectly without rattling. This low G ukulele string also benefits from being kept at a reasonable tension when being wound on to the string post. This avoids it being pinched as it comes to full tension for the first time.
