The Cafelele Takeover - Instore Event 28/3/26 - Phil Doleman, Matt Stead, Alex Beds & Phil Phillips

It's been too long since we hosted an event at SUS! We've missed you all.

On March 28th we have an incredible line-up for you with 3 workshops and 3 performances from some familiar faces and someone you have been begging us to have teach a workshop at SUS.

Matt Stead
Matt (the man behind learnukulele.com), has been a professional ukulele teacher for over 10 years. With a Youtube channel that has grown quicker than you would think logically possible; Matt has got as many people playing Ukulele and in love with the instrument as just about anybody else.

Teaching a beginners/intermediate workshop (details TBA) and performing on the day, we are delighted to welcome Matt Stead to Southern Ukulele Store on the 28th March.

Phil Doleman
Phil Doleman is the Mums favourite, your Dads favourite and definitely one of our favourite Ukulele teachers. My first ever workshop at SUS way back in 2011 featured Phil and I have learnt something about this history of this wonderful instrument every single time I have spoken to him. A fountain of knowledge and an unassuming, open, warm and kind hearted teacher. Phil will be teaching a beginners/intermediate workshop called 'train songs' where he takes you through the melodic voicing and composition of three different famous songs, expanding your repertoire and giving you applied knowledge for the future along the journey.

Adam Phillips (Phil aka UKES WITH PHIL)
Our very own in-house luthier and technician Phil is back at the helm teaching a blues workshop for beginners/intermediate players. Phils workshop last year received incredible feedback and in the year that has past; Phil has transitioned away from full time work at Southern Ukulele Store to follow his first love of teaching! He's still one of us though... just part time.

Alex Beds
Before you look at this and think; what kind of weirdo would book himself to play at an event? Well, I promise the reason I'm playing is because you folks asked for it. With Phil teaching; I thought I would take up the mantle of final performer to give folks a guilt free reason to head off before the end.

All joking aside, I will be performing songs from my last couple of albums and sharing some new material off my upcoming album due to come out later this year. 

3 workshops, 3 performances running from 12pm - approximately 6pm. £40... Hopefully we will see you all here, with your tickets?

Please bring your own ukulele and if you have a music stand, we would be grateful for a couple on the day. There will be breaks after each workshop/act for a snack. Run time will be announced on the day of the event. We will also be offering some special offers instore on the day.

You do not need to print a physical ticket. We carry out a register on the day, you will receive an email confirmation for this order.
