The Ubass began life with such humble beginnings - Road toad and Kala collaborated for years in the lead up to the launch of the original Mahogany Acoustic Ubasses and we really can't imagine a world without them now. Kala made very few USA Ubasses as custom orders only between 2014-2022 before stopping production was halted. With their relaunch of the USA Ubass in 2025, this is a great opportunity to own a true master quality solid body bass with a healthy slice of Hawaiian Koa thrown in to give it that classic Ukulele look.

This gorgeous Hawaiian Koa top on swamp Ash body Ubass is just a truly fantastic, refined and versatile machine. The maple neck feels new and old which is down to a beautifully UV cured semi gloss finish that in our opinion really simulates that lived in feel but with a brand spanking new look. The pickup is a custom designed LR Baggs active system that gives even MusicMan a run for their money through the right amp.

The hardwear is certainly worth a mention also. The Kala custom shop loaded this deluxe ubass with the HeliumX Graph Tech bridge with the Ghost saddles, one of the most serious bridge assemblys we've ever seen on a solid body bass. The custom Hipshot Ultralite™ 20:1 gear ratio tuners are lightweight but heavy duty, making precise tuning even easier.

Wrapped up in a deluxe padded gigbag this ukulele bass is truly a "lifer" and built to a stunning standard. If you want something special in a ukulele bass, you found it.
