The Rebel - Limited Edition Pieces-C All Solid Mango Pineapple Concert Ukulele w/Gigbag

The Rebel never cease to amaze us with the inventiveness of what comes out of their workshop in Thailand. Whenever a batch of their limited edition Q-Series models arrives, it's always exciting to see what newly imagined creations lie within.

For a decade now; Rebel have produced concept instruments in extremely limited numbers. These instruments are all unique with underlying themes such as changing one wood combination or the position of a soundhole. The never ending search for improvements in the sound and feel of a ukulele is a big mission of Rebel's.

The pieces-C pineapple concert ukulele is a part of The Rebel's latest additions to the Q-Series range. Built to the same stunning standard as we would expect from The Rebel, the pieces features an all solid, slightly spalted mango body with some gorgeous accoutrements. Firstly and most obviously, the classic pineapple silhouette is drastically brought into the current century with two experimentally shaped and placed sound-holes, with the addition of three side sound-ports, greatly opening up the body chamber and releasing mountains of sound.

Once you've finished taking in the latest soundhole innovations the rest of the premium features start to draw ones attention. The front and rear rosewood binding frames the holographic mango to stunning affect, with some black and white purfling on the front for good measure. The upgraded features continue with a tidy rosewood heel cap and switch up in the fretboard inlay style, with a new triangle motif straying from the typical Rebel fret marker trend. A nice touch is the introduction of a pineapple specific gigbag included with the pieces, brandishing a pineapple patch on the front pocket.

They have still of course included features we have come to know and love from The Rebel. The high gloss finish, the hard ebony head plate with The Rebel's famous geometric wooden bird logo inlayed tether us to the roots of what we love about The Rebel in the first place, with the new and exciting additions shining a hopeful and eagerly anticipated future for what they will dream up next.
