When we consider L.Luthier, the first thing that comes to mind is precision engineering and the simple things done extremely well. Flawless finishes and fantastic attention to detail leads to the production of beautiful instruments that feel, look and most importantly sound amazing.

The subtlety in branding and embellishments is almost central to the identity of L.Luthier's existing models, for example the small notch taken from the headstock as a feature could be missed, but once noticed becomes a signature that can really be appreciated. Or the geometric bird inlays that are clean, and almost calming in nature as a design feature.

We are extremely excited however to bring you something totally new from L.Luthier with these tenor ukuleles. The Sand and the Le Sand have taken all of the aforementioned fundamentals of what it means to be an L.Luthier ukulele, and sandwiched a beautiful solid cedar and quilted mahogany double top to simply stunning effect. 

Those of you who are unfamiliar with a double top allow us to illuminate for you. It is really what you might imagine. A combination of cedar and mahogany is hard compressed together to encapsulate the best of both tonewoods, the tight but measures snap of the cedar with the warmth and balance of mahogany is a symphony of success, and that's before you stand back to see just how gorgeous it is.

The Le Sand is stained in a sweet, almost blonde burst stain, accentuating the natural figuring of the quilted mahogany, and features the signature off-set soundhole design and personal sound-port synonymous with L.Luthiers other "Le" series ukes.

Framed with abalone binding and housed with high grade rosewood back and sides, and featuring upgraded Gotoh tuners with complimentary ivoroid buttons, L.Luthier have fused a triumph of precisely put together instruments that visually are just magnificent to behold. Inside you'll find the same extremely capable pickup system as found across the entire L.Luthier roster. With any piezo/mic blend system, you will find that mixing in too much of the mic can lead to distortion, but mix in around 1/3 and it adds a depth and realism to your sound which is just gorgeous.
