Millar Custom Solid Mango Soprano Longneck Ukulele (B-Stock)
Here we have a one of a kind Custom long neck soprano ukulele in beautiful figured Mango from the head luthier at Millar ukulele in Taiwan. This is quite an exquisite instrument with wonderful materials and building skills on display. Millar ukuleles are gaining an excellent reputation for quality and sound, and this one just does more to confirm this reputation.
The 390mm scale length really helps the Soprano body to come alive. Whilst retaining that nice percussive bark of which Sopranos are capable, it also has a very refined smoothness, warmth and sustain that standard scale sopranos sometimes lack.
In the hand, all Millars are super comfy with an nice slinky low profile neck, on which the fretboard width flares out towards the neck join. This means that you find plenty of space to get your fingers in the right shapes up the neck without ever getting close to the egde of the fretboard, and with the precise intonation and sheer presence of the notes up at the dusty end of this one, you'll want to do just the same.
This particular Ukulele has been reduced since arriving with us due to an unusual but harmless manufacturing defect. As the wood on the headstock has shrunk slightly either in transit or during its initial period of adjustment to the UK humidity; the screws from the machineheads have created tiny raised bumps on the innerside of the slotted headstock. This is the first and only time we have seen something like this on a Ukulele after arriving with us but we can be confident that the problem is purely cosmetic (it's quite subtle). We feel that a 10% discount on this new instrument is more than fair for flaws that in no way hinder the playability, look or performance of the Ukulele. (Pictured)
