Preowned Kanile'a MANAKO Hawaiian Mango Tenor Ukulele w/MiSi - Left Handed

The ukulele for sale is the original 2020 prototype of a Kanile'a Manako Tenor Ukulele. Made for me (Alex from SUS) by Kanile'a during COVID; I believe this is the only left handed Mango special Tenor Kanile'a produced for Southern Ukulele Store and the first of about 25 of these special signature models that were made between 2021-2023. 

This series (MANAKO meaning mango), came about because of my known love of Mango as a tonewood and ironically the scarcity of it being used as a premium tonewood as recently as 5 years ago. In the years that have followed, many brands like Flight, L.Luthier, Oli and more have turned to Mango as a sustainable alternative to Hawaiian Koa but back when this was made it was a bit of a unicorn!

If you are wondering why I would sell it; I'm happy to elaborate. I own two other Kanile'a Ukuleles that I love, cherish and play much more than I have been playing this ukulele for the last couple of years. I have limited space and I would really like to raise some money to upgrade my camera equipment and go back to Hawaii so that I can visit the folks at Kanile'a again. I would really love someone to be out there playing the uke and enjoying it as much as I have.

The Body is made from Hawaiian Mango sourced by Kanile'a and selected by me. It has a mango armrest and side dots made of mango. It features Kanile'as rarely seen slimline traditional headstock with Gotoh Stealth Tuners. The body is UV high Gloss and the neck is mahogany and finished in satin giving the uke a lovely lived in comfortable feel in your fretting hand.

The Ukulele has also had a MiSi fitted and comes in a deluxe gigbag which has kept the uke in near new condition despite it having travelled all around the world with me on my pursuit of the latest and greatest adventures I have had in the Ukulele world.

In many ways, this is a lovely piece of Southern Ukulele Store and Kanile'a history as the only run of its kind they have done in their near 30 year history. A custom Mango ukulele from Kanile'a will set you back at least 3 times the price this ukulele is available for in 2025.

Although set up and built for a left hander, this ukulele would convert to right handed absolutely fine. Just let us know in the set up box if that is your preference.
