Leftys come together and rejoice. Pete Howlett has built something just for you. This Solid English Cherry Tenor is part of Pete's final 250 uke Legacy series and really is one for the history books. The aesthetic benefit of Cherry is that it looks so clean and vibrant and its never more evident than on this Ukulele which just pops out at you as you hold it.
What makes it left handed you ask? - A personal sound hole on the upper bout. I must admit that sometimes we are sceptical of personal sound holes adding something to the sound but then when you cover this one up you realise that you are depriving yourself of hearing what everyone else has heard all this time. Great addition Pete!
Tonally, Cherry is a massively under utilised sustainable wood and it sounds very full on the deeper tones and clear on sustained notes. Sometimes people describe Cherry as 'harp like' and although this particular Ukulele is currently high G you can definitely get a sense from finger picking this Ukulele what an expansive tonal spectrum it is capable of.
