Wildcat Long Neck Concert Ukulele Solid Flamed Sapele #53
We are delighted to offer for sale a beautiful Wildcat long neck concert ukulele made by the very clever Paul Barnard. Built around a concert size body and 17" tenor scale length, this beauty features a flamed sapele body, and is appointed with some wonderful maple binding around the body and fretboard.
This is a really highly specced instrument, and extremely well made indeed. When we first held it, it really reminded us in the best way of a LoPrinzi uke, which is a real compliment. This uke feels like it should be a LOT more expensive than it is.
The sound is bright and zingy, saturated with very pretty harmonics, and has very good volume and sustain. This is no doubt down to bringing the concert body size and tenor scale length together, and also testament to the build quality, which is certainly making the best of the materials used.
This uke was made in April 2021. Paul has played this uke, tested and demonstrated it, and as such it has a few very very light strum marks on the top bout, where you would expect to see them. These are the marks of the maker, and in our and his opinion, only add to the charm!
