USED Phil Davidson Hand Made Soprano Ukulele w/hardcase
Please note that this second hand Phil Davidson soprano ukulele is for sale to UK based customers only.
This hand made Phil Davidson soprano ukulele, we think, is made of solid cherry. This is unconfirmed however, as Phil is such a lover of using unusual wood that he is unsure himself, having built the instrument around 14 years ago.
This second hand ukulele has certainly seen some use, with most notably a large ding to the headstock, a handful of chips here and there, a small dent on the rear of the neck, and a couple of scratches on the top. That being said, it has many redeeming features, tipping the scale significantly towards mega. The early Martin esq silhouette is adorned with fine features including a unique headstock inlay, fine soundhole rosette and supremely stylish tapered fretboard embellishment meeting the body.
There's plenty of mileage in this lovely hand built soprano ukulele, and it's supplied with a hard case to ensure said mileage.
Specification:
Possibly all solid cherry
Ebony fingerboard and bridge
Satin finish
Hand made in the UK
Supplied in used hard case
The tale of Philip Davidson is one of woodworking and collecting. His pursuits in 18th century furniture reproduction led him to a Hawaiian lumberyard seeking figured koa in the early 1990s. Fate as it seems led him to use the aforementioned koa to experiment in building a ukulele. His exploration of exotic woods has led him down a luthiers path, and his portfolio of ukuleles built right here in the UK is most impressive, with doffs of the cap from both Mike DaSilva and Ken Franklin, who served as consultants to Phil in his early explorations into the ukulele world.
