'Oli X2-BSMR Solid Spruce Top/Myrtle Back and Sides Baritone Ukulele w/Hard Case

Andrew Kitakis along with his famous team at Ukulele Site in Hawaii have been designing and refining the range of ukuleles for several years already. Present company included; there is really nobody more in tune with what makes a good ukulele that players can bond with.

The X2-BSMR is part of the X braced series from 'Oli. Aimed at intermediate/professional musicians this baritone ukulele is light in the hands, resonant and with incredible sustain and colour to the sound. The reinforcement in the top makes for a thicker, tighter and more compressed traditional bottom end sound on your ukulele.

Let's kick things off with the first impression. Visually the X2-BSMR is a gripping ukulele. That super light, straight grained spruce top is letting you know right away that it's snappy, sharp and immediate in its timbre. Pair that with a rare and gorgeous Oregon myrtle wood and we are on to a recipe that delivers balance, fullness and is extremely easy on the eyes.

We find heaps of ebony on this baritone. The bridge, fingerboard, face plate, rosette, arm bevel and of course binding are all ebony, and speaking of the binding, let's step back and appreciate the pinstripe-esq turqouise addition that traces every inch of the binding. We especially like the inclusion of it for the side sound port. A doff of the cap to myrtle is alos added to the headstock with a contrasting myrtle flower inlay.

The C-shaped neck we know and love from 'Oli is of course feature of this baritone, with tamrind wrap-around fret markers and a satin finish for ultra smooth playability.
