'Oli L2-CMG-MMB 'Mega Mendung' All Solid Mango Concert Ukulele w/hard case

The L2-CMG-MMB is part of 'Oli Ukulele's 3rd tier of instruments, aimed at intermediate/professional musicians.

Andrew Kitakis along with his famous team at Ukulele Site in Hawaii have been designing and refining the range of ukuleles for several years already. Present company included; there is really nobody more in tune with what makes a good ukulele that players can bond with. 

Starting with the more obvious contributions to the designated title for this stunning concert ukulele. 'CMG' stands for concert mango, and boy is it beautiful all solid mango used for the body and faceplate on this ukulele, with a rich but lightly applied stain making the grain jump from the body of this concert. Something we really appreciate with this specific model is the stain finding its way to the satin neck also, aesthetically tying everything together. It is sweet and sassy with mountains of bounce in its tone, but where there are mountains there are clouds, and this is where 'mega mendung' comes into play.

This model is called Mega Mendung for the cloud patterns inlaid on the fretboard. This design is unique to the island of Java and symbolises calmness, patience, and wisdom. They are so intricate without an ounce of unnecessary additions. On occasion fretboard inlays attempting to depict a certain shape can be overwhelming, but these clouds effortlessly mark the frets without overstepping at all.

As if the sweet fret markers wern't enough, this concert is adorned magnificently with contrasting 'unstained' mango. We find it in the binding, of which there is plenty. I'm talking, front, back, fretboard and headstock and even a bold backstrip dividing the rear panels of the pody, with a classy and functional arm bevel. The side sound port is also bound in the same bright mango for good measure.
