L.Luthier Le Light Rose Concert Ukulele Solid Spruce/Indian Rosewood in gigbag #2
L.Luthier's extremely high build quality is certainly on show in these le light rose concert ukuleles. The binding to the body and fretboard, the vintage look machine heads, the exquisitely appointed and finished design flourishes, the high gloss finish, the world class gigbag supplied with them - all of it adds up to extremely good value, possibly the best we've seen, at the price.
The sound really lives up to the promise of the looks. The offset soundhole won't be to everyone's taste visually, but there is no denying that the lovely full sound that this uke makes must be in large part down to its size and location.
Speaking of the sound, it has volume, good sustain, very good intonation, and good presence all the way up the neck. You could easily play classical style with gentle picking at the higher frets, and strum loudly in the first few positions, and be satisfied with the response you get every time.
The spruce and rosewood combo on this model gives wonderful balance, with warmth in the bass but lovely crispness and presence in the trebles. It has the quickest attack and widest dynamic range of the 3 concert models.
L.Luthier are a new brand to us, and very glad we are to have them too! The original order included 3 tenor ukuleles, which sold on the day that we were unpacking them. Literally, we sold them straight out of the box that they were couriered in into eager customers hands, and back out of the door! Our customers were blown away by the value for money on show at the price. Think Moonbird quality at half (or less) of the price.
