The aNueNue UT-100 is part of aNueNue's Bird series. The Bird series encompasses so many top quality premium instruments like the Moon Bird, Cedar Bird, Koa Bird and more; but up to now, the price point had always exceeded £1000. aNueNue have taken the famous UT200 design and made a few tweaks to offer a more affordable almost Bird-Lite model.

Firstly, Swiss moon spruce is replaced with Sitka spruce, still a high end choice and a great softwood for projection! Secondly, the curvy trim of the Moonbird is replaced by a more conventional vintage shape and the back wood is changed from Indian rosewood to a high grade mahogany. The vintage style stain on the back and sides is almost golden and stunning on the eyes. The mahogany back and sides also softens up the overall sound making this ukulele mellower than its sibling.

My favourite addition to these tenor ukuleles is the slotted headstock which makes this thing feel more like a classical guitar on first impressions. The abalone ring around the soundhole is gorgeous, the whole thing is seriously stunning.
