It is no secret that Flight can produce an excellent ukulele. Whether you are a beginner looking at the fantastic 500 series or a seasoned player in love with the Fireball, Comet or one of the many other intermediate ukuleles they produce; Flight have something that has been expertly tailored towards the ukulele players of this world. Establishing themselves as the company to watch when you want to get one of the best ukes possible without spending more money than necessary.

But, for us here at SUS; we have been long impressed with the bespoke and custom shop luthier built instruments. Flight will ocassionally produce to commemorate an anniversary or as a show piece for signature artists or events. Back in 2020; Flight produced some multi coloured stained Maple Ukuleles that set the ukulele world alight and we even found ourselves making it the ukulele of the year at the time. Since then, Flight have produced only a handful of different 'A10' models. Which is truly a terrible shame because we have yet to see one of these small team built luthier models perform less than 10/10 when we get the chance to play and love them.

Around 18 months ago, I had the chance to consult with the luthier behind these designs and we agreed to produce Southern Ukulele Stores first custom run of A10 models. Taking premium Spruce and AAA Hawaiian Koa; we set about creating a ukulele with a subtle and tasteful look. Something with nods to the best of Flights other designs but in keeping with our 2025 theme of British racing Green Ukuleles and Basses. 
The result is the A10-BRG; a Ukulele themed around the style of vintage race cars and the modern aesthetic look of modern Mini cars and the Aston Martin Racing team. This dark shade of green covering a spruce top mixes wonderfully with the browns and purple hues of the faux tortoiseshell trim and the vibrant oranges of the Hawaiian Koa. The sound is in my opinion one of the cleanest and most poised and open ukes Flight have ever produced. It sounds bubbly but can hold it's own and be heard with clear definition in a group of other instruments, and now we have a left handed baritone model.
