Everything on this model is a little better than the basic laminate top ukes - the top is solid and not laminate, the machine heads are slightly nicer, and there is binding to the body. And because the top is solid, the sound is louder and sustains for longer, and you find that there is greater clarity of individual notes when you strum or fingerpick.
