This solid exotic mahogany Kiwaya soprano ukulele sound and looks fantastic. Kiwaya ukuleles are built as light as possible for tone and projection, and modelled on the vintage Martin models. The craftsmen in Japan pay close attention to details such as intonation, action, playability and cosmetic appearance.

The result is extraordinary. This vintage vibed soprano ukulele sings with a volume and clarity that is astonishing, but with that lovely warmth of mahogany. Beginning in 2018 this model has received some upgrades of real note. The fingerboard and bridge are now ebony and the strings are now a much more vibrant sounding clear fluorocarbon.

This really is the top end of the Kiwaya KTS artist range. It has the looks, the sound, the feel, the finish...it is so fabulously characterful but precise at the same time that it makes playing it an absolute doddle, with huge and gratifying rewards!

Up close, they are stunning, and display the same chatoyancy that you normally associate with quarter sawn and bookmatched Koa. Every time you change your viewing angle, the holographic grain seems to change pattern! It was very hard to photograph :-) This one is a particularly lovely sounding one as well, with a wonderful pattern of harmonics in the strumming sound, which you normally only get with the choicest cuts of Honduran mahogany.
