'Oli X1SP-TSWA-VB-LH Left handed Spruce/Waru Vintage Burst Tenor Ukulele W/hard case

Andrew Kitakis along with his famous team at Ukulele Site in Hawaii have been designing and refining the range of ukuleles for several years already. Present company included; there is really nobody more in tune with what makes a good ukulele that players can bond with. 

This latest left handed addition to the X range features a handful of our favourite features that we have seen from existing X-2 models, but without some of the upgraded accoutrements from its fancy cousin.

Never fear however because 'Oli haven't scrimped on the fundamentals. The clean vintage burst stain is very handsome indeed, giving a touch of style to the clean and crisp engelmann spruce beneath the surface. The solid waru back and sides visually could be mistaken for mahogany, but tonally edges somewhere closer to rosewood, being a little more dense than mahogany, tightening up the mids a touch for a bright and bubbly tone.

You're also still getting the string through bridge found on the X-2 models which is a lovely addition, a side sound port for some personal feedback and a smooth satin finished neck for easy gliding navigation of the fingerboard.

Inlayed to the fretboard the X1SP-TMH-VB has side mounted tamarind markers popular on many ukes from brands like Flight. They give you a visual clue as to where you are playing on the fretboard without the need to tilt the instrument towards you. The nut is wider at 37mm with a nice wide string spacing and a modern, smooth C shape to the neck which curves well with the natural curves in your hand. The new headstock is fitted with ol' faithful Grover Sta-tite tuners for precision tuning.

Finally, the choice of factory strings is the Uke Logic 'Oli Fluorocarbon Gold alloy Low G's which are a pitch perfect choice for this tenor, highlighting all of those wonderful tonal characteristics in superb harmony with the tonewood itself.
