'Oli X1SP-TCR Solid Cedar Top Rosewood Back & Side Tenor Ukulele w/hard case

Andrew Kitakis along with his famous team at Ukulele Site in Hawaii have been designing and refining the range of 'Oli ukuleles for several years already. Present company included; there is really nobody more in tune with what makes a good ukulele that players can bond with. 

This latest addition to the X range features a handful of our favourite features that we have seen from existing X-2 tenor ukulele models, but without some of the upgraded accoutrements from its fancy cousin.

Never fear however because 'Oli haven't scrimped on the fundamentals. The X1SP-TCR is built with a combination of rich, balanced cedar for the top with lashings of rosewood for the back and sides. We know this to be a seriously winning combo, taking the warmth and richness of cedar as a sound board, with rosewood complimenting in style. The rosewood also finds its way to soundhole rosette, the bridge, and the fretboard which features those very nifty wrap-around fret markers in contrasting tamarind. A sampling from local Hawaiian artist Simon Halpern’s hand drawings is coming across the rosewood faceplate inlayed in maple.

We're not just limiting the maple to the faceplate inlay with the X1SP-TCR however, with maple top binding with rope purfling and maple binding right the way up the fretboard, adding a touch of vintage flair to this already visually impressive tenor.

You're also still getting the string through bridge found on the X-2 models which is a lovely addition, a bound side sound port for some personal feedback and a smooth satin finished neck for easy gliding navigation of the fingerboard of this punchy and pretty tenor ukulele.

Finally, the choice of factory strings is the Uke Logic 'Oli Fluorocarbon gold alloy low G strings which are a pitch perfect choice for this tenor, highlighting all of those wonderful tonal characteristics in superb harmony with the tonewood itself.
