The L3-CACMB is part of 'Oli's top tier of instruments. These trees mostly got wiped out for use with ship building in the 17 and 1800's, but for thousands of years they were plentiful. This comes from one of the oldest logs ever found under water. It's carbon dated at 3,758 years old! Finding this incredible tonewood that had been sunken for thousands of years, cutting it into quarter sawn top grade soundboard material, and air drying it for years has been a labor of love from east coast luthier Aaron Lucas. Sustainable practices are key for the future health of all living things. Using tonewoods like this that have been sitting in a river for many centuries to make a beautiful instrument like this is a wonderful thing. On top of that the tone is amazing! 

Pairing this ancient sound board with Malaysian blackwood is brings the entire ensemble to life, with the back and sides utilising a premium tonewood loved by custom guitar aficionados for its glassy, sustained tone and superb power.

Huge swaths of this concert are drenched in ebony, from the front, back, neck and headstock binding; the comfort edge, faceplate, and bridge to the fretboard this gorgeous dark wood marries everything together, they've even bound the side sound port. This is all expertly contrasted by the custom maple inlays and maple mandala headstock motif.
