This unique product is the result of a collaborative effort between Kala Ukulele and Road Toad Music. It has a 20 inch scale with 16 frets. Unlike strings you may have seen in the past, the polyurethane strings have a great feel, with really nice tension, and are a true pleasure to play. This instrument makes a unique sound that falls somewhere between an upright bass and a standard electric bass. It sports an active Shadow piezo system with a built in tuner which takes a small lithium watch battery, and a compensated bridge. It has a solid Mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard. This is the instrument for someone who is looking for something a little different that is also great fun to play.
 
Undoubtedly the coolest sounding bass instrument that I've played for ages. Really user friendly, great woody thump in the sound with bags of beef to the tone.
