Kala U-BASS-BMB-FS Solid Bamboo UBass Bass Ukulele w/Gigbag (Strap Button)

The Kala bamboo ukulele series have been a smash hit - possibly the most popular Kala ukes we have ever had here at SUS. Way back at the Jan 2020 NAMM show we saw the bamboo bass ukulele for the first time and thought it was great... Little did we know that they wouldn't make it to our shores for over a year. If I'd have known I would have snuck one out and on the plane under my jumper!

This bass ukulele has a slightly brighter voicing acoustically than Kala's other recent offerings. It's vibrant and punchy and works fantastically with both the factory black polyurethane strings, white Thundergut strings, or the Kala wound strings if you want to be a bit more of a rocker.

The active EQ and undersaddle system is top notch and its becoming increasingly clear that Kala have mastered the Ubass design and the more affordable basses in the range have it going on just as much as the earlier deluxe models that were twice the price.

Bamboo is the most sustainable choice for musical instruments. Highly renewable, bamboo regenerates quickly without being replanted—sometimes growing up to three feet per day! The straight grain of this “grass” is actually stronger than most hardwoods.

It is beautifully natural-looking with clean lines and bamboo from top to bottom—from the headstock to the fretboard to the saddle. Bamboo provides a bright tone with great volume, harmonics, projection and sustain. The strength of bamboo makes for an extremely durable and resilient U•BASS.
