The KA-20TH-SQS-T holds a similar space as the Kala contour series when it comes to price range, but in the hand feels like a far more premium instrument, closer to something like an Ohana Custom USA or even dare I say a Kamaka deluxe model.

Beyond the limited edition Poppy headstock inlay, it's the wood selection that makes these anniversary models feel so special. The beautifully bright, strait grained spruce used for the top is bound simply but cleanly with rosewood as great start, but take a short trip to the back and sides and we find some simply stunning quilted sapele. Tonally not unlike mahogany, the sapele offers a lovely balance to the spruce, visually however the reddish brown of this gorgeous wood seriously stands out.

Much like the other 20th anniversary models, the KA-20TH-SQS-T features a custom deluxe padded gigbag with a sweet little patch echoing the poppy headstock inlay.

20 years of Kala has been expertly bookended in these anniversary models, leaving a chapter marker for the company to be proud of as we move into the next quarter of our century.
