Kai KCI-700 Concert Ukulele Solid Cedar Top Gloss with gigbag

£189.00 £157.50

The Kai concert ukulele really is a lot of instrument for the money. The eagle eyed among you may notice a distinct resemblance to a Kala model that costs significantly more! This one offers the same loud but balanced and clean sound, and possible even better looks owing to that gorgeous bocote back and sides.

Cedar is just one of the right woods to use for ukuleles which do everything well. The treble has fabulous presence without ever being shrill, and the bass register has depth, warmth but clarity as well. In the hand the neck feels very familiar, with its 35 nut width and standard neck profile.

The only thing quite out of the ordinary is the personal soundhole on the top bout. Some people call these gimmicks, but I disagree. There is a good deal of volume coming from it, giving the player a real insight into the nuances of their playing and sound.

And the gigbag it comes with is no single skin waste of time; 20mm padding, thick rucksack straps and a large external pocket make this absolutely worth having.

One of the best value concert ukuleles in the shop? Without doubt!
