Flight Maia Luxe EQ-A Solid Mango Top Steel String Baritone Ukulele w/Gigbag
Unlike anything else in the Flight range, the Maia arrived as a bright, dynamic and truly unique ukulele amongst its Flight peers. Intended for DGBE tuning, one might consider it to be a short scale tenor guitar in Chicago tuning, but in the ukulele world, it can simply be enjoyed as a Flight steel string baritone with that stunning mango top we’ve seen across many of Flight's existing range.
With the popularity of this special ukulele, Flight have brought us the Maia "Luxe", an upgraded and improved version of the original Maia with many similarities, but plenty of premium features to get excited about.
We still have the solid mango top, but with the "Luxe", Flight chose to go with all solid rosewood back and sides as the first upgrade. They also took the pearloid soundhole rosette and reflected it in the front binding for a touch of bling. The addition of one of the coolest side sound ports we've seen is another new feature, adding some style to a practical feature. The final big step up for the Luxe is improved machine heads, crowning this latest addition to the steel string baritone world with gold tuners.
Over all, the small touches have resulted in what feels like a major upgrade, with even the string tension feeling a little better than on the earlier Flight Maia's.
The Luxe is of course fitted with a double C1U pickup as with many other Flight electros and comes with a padded Flight gigag as standard.
