Flight Maia EQ-A Solid Mango Top Steel String Tenor Ukulele w/Gigbag #0300
After the success of Flight's Maia baritone, the arrival of a steel strung tenor ukulele was inevitable. And, oh, what an instrument!
Admittedly, we were a little sceptical about a steel strung acoustic tenor ahead of their arrival, but they are so perfectly executed that it's arguable these are amongst the best things Flight have contributed to the ukulele world. Officially they are launching early next year, but we have managed to sneak an early release with an initial stock of nine or ten before 2026 even arrives.
The reoccurring theme of Flight producing something that seemingly should have always been is the gift that keeps on giving. The Flight Maia tenor is a truly unique instrument, bridging a newly observed gap between the steel string acoustic guitar world and that of the ukulele. The brightness, and snap of the steel strings brings a brand new dynamic to the tenor world, with a crispness and clarity that hasn't really existed in the until now.
If the already loud nature of the Maia isn’t enough it is also fitted with a double C1U pickup should you need to amplify or record it. Wrapped up in a Flight branded tenor gigbag this uke is treat, ticking boxes we didn’t even know could be ticked!
Listing shows the actual instrument you will receive. They are all so different that we couldn't not show them all off!
Please note that traditional nylon/nylgut/fluorocarbon strings are not suitable for this instrument, steel strings only!
