Back in September 22’ Alex experimented by stringing up a Flight carabao baritone with steel strings. The void of a steel strung baritone ukulele in the Flight roster needed filling however the bracing simply wasn’t up to the tension of the steel and the experiment was ultimately unsuccessful.
Word got back to Flight, and almost two years on the Maia baritone appeared in all its mango topped, rosewood back and side steel strung baritone glory. The popularity of the Maia cannot be understated and so, now, we have seen the arrival of a brand new model from Flight, the Lily.
With a solid cedar top and laminated mango back and sides, the Lily offers a more rounded and refined sound, capturing the rich snap of the cedar and sweetness of the mango in sweet syncronicity. framed with deep rosewood binding and sound-hole rosette, the Lily has a classic look to go with the acoustic guitar style sound. It features the same double C1U pickup system we are already familiar with should you need to amplify or record it, and of course comes complete with a padded Flight gigbag.
