Here we have an all solid Hawaiian Koa soprano uke, with a lower than expected price tag. All Big Island acoustic ukes are half made in Hawaii: the wood is milled and prepared in Hawaii, then shipped to a specialist factory in Vietnam for assembly. The quality is excellent, definitely a step up from what you expect to find from most Chinese factories.
This little stunner hits all the right notes (pardon the pun) that you want a soprano uke to hit. That unique, happy, almost compressed but not boxy sound leaps at you with the least amount of strumming. It is supremely responsive and you can feel and hear the sustain and harmonics in the sound, which two of the principal telltales of a good, stiff, lightly built and lively sounding soprano.
So, get those right hand strumming strokes going and let rip!
