Kanile'a make some of the finest ukuleles on the sunny island of Oahu. Their instruments have incredible finishes, really second to none, and they possess incredible poise, both physically and sonically.
They feel so light in the hand, thanks to very clever bracing and beautifully refined, high quality thin wood being used. Everything on the bodies is designed to maximise vibrations - the "touch and release" bracing allows the top to ring for longer, the internal binding top the top and back is as minimal as possible without compromising structural integrity, and the wood is very carefully selected for the correct grain properties which allows the soundwaves to be created. And everything is put together by master craftsmen, who love what they do, and this shows.
All this attention to detail results in a huge but crystal clear and balanced sound, endless sustain and very pretty and complex harmonics in the sound. You really can do everything on a Kanile'a!
This video below does not show the exact instrument, but gives you a very good idea of what sound to expect. Pictures show exact instrument for sale. This one has had an uneventful life, and has obviously been played carefully. It was traded in because our customer wanted another Concert, rather than the extended neck Super Concert. It has been played enough to open up and sound really rather lovely indeed like all Kanile'a instruments do. Huge volume and sustain! Condition is a solid 9/10, and original price was £1445. Comes with the original SUS tenor pod case.
