The Firefly Banjo Ukulele combines the ease of playing the uke with the distinctive sound of the banjolele. The 8” head is synthetic Mylar-based Remo Fiberskyn with Acousticon pot, factory tuned and assembled. The simple open back design is lightweight, requiring no tuning of the head. Action is easily adjustable with shim washers where the dowel stick meets the tailpiece bracket. The Firefly Banjo Ukulele, comes standard with: Grover 2B tuners, walnut neck, walnut body, maple and ebony bridge, wooden fretboard, and D'Addario Nyltech strings.

This model, the M80W, has a zero fret, 16 frets to the body, and a 355mm scale length, which makes it a soprano scale. It is extremely light, so very easy to hold and play, easily half to a third of the weight of other banjo ukuleles. But there is no compromise on volume or tone - this is a very loud and proud instrument!

Please note: this Firefly has the optional wooden fretboard upgrade. On the plastic bodied Flea and Fluke models, the polycarbonate fretboard is fine, but on the FireFly banjo ukulele you do notice a marked improvement in the tone and sustain. Also, you can use wound strings (very popular on banjoleles) which decimate the polycarbonate fretboard! This is the nicest sounding and playing banjo ukulele that we have come across. Seriously loud, sturdy and great fun! Our best selling banjolele by far.

Please be aware that there may be some small marks on the skin on the ukulele. These are cosmetic and in no way affect the performance of the instrument.
