Kanile'a make some of the finest ukuleles on the sunny island of Oahu. Their instruments have incredible finishes, really second to none, and they possess incredible poise, both physically and sonically.
Kanile'a concert ukulele feels very light in the hand, thanks to clever improved TRU-R bracing and beautifully refined, high quality thin wood being used. Everything on the body is designed to maximise vibrations. The "touch and release" bracing allows the top to ring for longer and the internal binding top the top and back is as minimal as possible without compromising structural integrity. The wood is very carefully selected for the correct grain properties which allows the sound waves to be created. Each element is put together by master craftsmen, who love what they do, and this shows.
The 2020 Kanile'a K-1's have upgraded ebony fingerboards and bridges, ebony bridge pins and a darker creamy looking ebony headplate with white mother of pearl Kanile'a logo.
All this attention to detail results in a huge but crystal clear and balanced sound, endless sustain and very pretty and complex harmonics in the sound. Kanile'a
concert ukuleles also have a fairly uncommon wider 38mm nut width. This makes this neck comfortable for players used to larger sizes or just people that prefer a tiny bit more string spacing. You really can do everything on a Kanile'a!
