Details

This mellow, powerful Kala concert ukulele is a real game changer. It's a fabulous new model from Kala, who over the last few years have really been experimenting with a huge variety of different woods. This one is completely unique in that it is made completely of solid flamed maple.

Traditionally, Kala have used maple on the back and sides, rarely on the top. However, the use of it here on this new model brings a different and new sound unlike any past or present model. It is a very sweet, mellow sounding uke but by no means quiet...

Maple should be used more often because it packs just enough of a punch to be heard over most other instruments without compromising on the tone. This is a great alternative to something like spruce which can be a little bit too direct for some styles of music, but this uke has a sweetness in the sound that is going to make you want to keep playing. Quite unique in the Kala range.

The pictures show an average example. Although these are all very consistent in their appearance, if you would like photos of actual stock to make your decision please drop us a line. If you are not fussed, leave it to us!
