The Ubass began life with such humble beginnings - Road toad and Kala collaborated for years in the lead up to the launch of the original Mahogany Acoustic Ubasses and we really can't imagine a world without them now. The acoustic Ubass and sub basses continue to be popular but with the introduction of Kala's USA custom shop several years ago came the next stage in the Ubass's evolution has come to fruition.

This gorgeous Hawaiian Koa top on swamp Ash body Ubass is just a truly fantastic, refined and versatile machine. The instrument can handle Kala and Aquila's modern variation on Ukulele Bass strings but has arrived with us from California with the tried and tested Pahoehoe strings and it has all the mojo to it you could ever ask for.

The maple neck feels new and old which is down to a beautifully UV cured semi gloss finish that in our opinion really simulates that lived in feel but with a brand spanking new look. The pickup is a custom designed LR Baggs active system that gives even MusicMan a run for their money through the right amp. If you love your Ubass and want that one that will grow with you then look no further.
