Flight 4SB All Solid Spruce & Indian Rosewood Tenor Ukulele w/Gigbag (4stringboy signature model)
Sammy Turton aka 4stringboy is one of our favourite ukulele players, so this tenor ukulele collaboration with Flight is very exciting for us!
Sammy seemingly appeared from nowhere during the early days of the pandemic with a Flight Fireball and some incredible original ukulele arrangements that amazingly he could also teach! His 'fingerstyle fursday' pieces became must watch exercises for hundreds of players and it was just a matter of time before his enthusiasm, skill and unique presenting style made him one of the faces of Flight Ukuleles.
The 4 String Boy is a classic fingerstyle player's dream match up of Spruce and Indian Rosewood... This combination is one of the ultimate wood combinations for a fingerstyle player; if you want to project and produce the cleanest, cripest and aurally pleasing ukulele sounds possible then this is the wood combination you would choose.
In typical Flight fashion and definitely in 4stringboy fashion; this tenor ukulele has some gorgeous contrasting spalted maple cosmetic adornments on the bevelled edge cutaway, front and back binding and a stylish soundhole rosette. This is matched by the headstock which is equally unique and tastefully done. Finally, the top has a rich black stain making it unforgettable on the eyes.
Why does this ukulele have fret dots on both sides? Well, Sammy has popularised the use of harmonics on the ukulele and the offset markers work as a visual aid for where the key harmonics used in the conventional ukulele keys are.
