Details

Lovely new 5 string ukulele model from Kala, with a high and a low G on the same instrument. This rounds out the sound in a very different way from either a 6 string or an 8 string ukulele - you get a lovely full strumming sound, and you can get very varied and interesting picking patterns as well. There is a low G red series string alongside a set of Aquila Super Nylgut strings.

The solid aged cedar top makes for a beautiful, luscious rounded sound. This is a true all rounder as far as sound goes - it has a crispness because of the gloss finish so picking styles sound clear and ringing with a good amount of sustain, and strumming sounds very convincing as well, with lots of headroom so you can vary the attack from a little tickle to a massive overhead haymaker without having to back off. At all times the instrument responds with great clarity.

And the slotted headstock is just plain sexy.
