The Rebel - Limited Edition 'Imaginary' - Solid Acacia Top Acacia/Spruce Back & Sides Bell Shape Tenor Ukulele w/Gigbag

The Rebel never cease to amaze us with the inventiveness of what comes out of their workshop in Thailand. Whenever a batch of their limited edition Q-Series models arrives it's always exciting to see what newly imagined creations lie within.

For a decade now; Rebel have produced concept instruments in extremely limited numbers. These instruments are all unique with underlying themes such as changing one wood combination or the position of a soundhole. The never ending search for improvements in the sound and feel of a ukulele is a big mission of Rebel's.

Amongst the many unique models in our late 2025 Rebel drop, the Imeginari is truly an individual bell shaped tenor ukulele. On the surface it shares a very similar silhouette to the Lovelace bell shape tenor, and even features the same acacia used for the top. This is where we start to see the Imeginari's individuality start to appear. In place of a standard central sound hole it has two slightly smaller, symmetrically placed sound holes in the top quarters of the top bout. 

As we begin to take a 360 pan around the body the real adventure begins. Instead of your typical contrasting sides and back that you would expect to find, the Imeginari is built with one side, and one half of the back in bright spruce, and the other side and rear panel in the same acacia as the top.

The resulting sound of the experimental body shape, sound-hole placement and wood combination is very mellow, but thanks to the spruce acacia still clear and clean. We also see welcome premium features including rosewood binding and a mirroring heelcap, an ebony fretboard and head plate which joins the body with the same gradient design as the Neri models from early 2025. The fret markers are more simplified with classic maple dots in place of the geometric triangle designs typical of The Rebel but the same marrango wood neck as all of this latest batch of Rebel ukuleles.
