The simple spruce top with mahogany back and sides are part of what makes this Rebel concert ukulele stand. The Rebel Cheesecake has no binding or fancy cosmetic detail except for the geometric-esque fret dots.
You are paying for a well finished ukulele made of good select woods with good hardware and one strum really brings that home. This concert ukulele is loud and clear without being too ferocious like some spruce top ukes.
The concert dimensions gives the instrument a familiar but also quite unique voicing too - the meaty sustain of each note is apparent but the tighter, thinner concert body goes a long way in focusing the attack and release of each note. The Cheesecake has a slightly thinner 5cm body depth but you'd never know from such a big sound.

Phil and I fell madly in love with Rebel at the 2019 NAMM show and we were delighted to be able to share the Rebel experience with our colleagues and customers when opening the delivery for the first time. There isn't a bad or mediocre ukulele in the range - just well made ukes you will want to play every time you open the bag.
Sure, the bag is a bit flamboyant and won't be to everyone's taste - but at least you'll always know where you put your Rebel!
P.S - An earlier delivery of this model in a super concert size received one of Got a Ukulele's highest scores. You can read and watch Baz's very detailed review at here.
