The absolutely unique, pristine and inspiring uke you are looking at right now is an Oulcraft ukulele. Remember the name because these ukuleles offer something at the high end that really pushes the boundaries of what you can expect from the instrument.

Firstly, this instrument is absolutely wonderful and is still new but has been on display since arriving with us and has several small dings in the side. Condition is now around 8.5/10 and that gives somebody an absolute world beating bargain... After all, if you play these instruments and love them then eventually you are going to put a ding in one yourself anyway. Do not hesitate to take a look at this Oulcraft if you want one of the best Spruce/Koa Ukes out there and don't mind a few minor imperfections.

Using modern production methods, these ukuleles compete and learn from all of the hard work many of the very best Japanese and US builders have been producing throughout the last decade. When I hold these instruments I am reminded of Kanile'a, AnueNue and TODA whilst also getting a fair amount of the flavours and sensibilities of the best smaller workshop outfits like Sumi, Barron River and Pete Howlett.

Oulcraft comprise of 3 gifted builders and designers: Jungtae, Hyuntae and Seoyoon. Jungtae set up the Oul studio in 2011 having worked previously in Japan building custom acoustic guitars for T's Guitars under the tutelage of Seilen and Imua master luthier Shinji Takahashi. He is joined in the workshop by his brother Hyuntae. The unique design element of the Oulcraft ukuleles is down to Jungtae's wife Seoyoon who has an extensive design history in various industries.

The synergy that this team create is extremely refreshing, a family approach with a mixing bowl of excellent design ideas, a wealth of craftsmanship experience and modern techniques. We are delighted to be Europe's first Oulcraft dealer and to be able to join them on a new voyage of ukulele design as the company hits it's second decade.

The Dalbeat model is just as aesthetically pleasing as the custom shop models we have received but at a more attractive price. The Dalbeat features a nicely figured Engelmann spruce top with some lovely figured Hawaiian koa back and sides.

This ukulele is just amazing - it looks understated but has such a big sound. So much texture and tone whether you are a strummer wanting something with balance or even a light fingerpicker that wants to be heard! The key thing we have found connecting all of these Oulcraft's is a stunning attention to detail. This instrument reminds me of the Kanile'a KSDLX but with a slightly more compact 36mm nut width which is almost word for word what I write at the top of my Christmas list every year!
