Millar SP-260W Solid Spruce/Acacia Tenor Ukulele w/Slotted Headstock #1020_02

£599.00 £499.17
VOTED 5TH IN THE TOP 10 UKULELES OF 2020!!

We have nothing but time for the amazing sound and build quality of the new Millar ukulele range. This SP-260W all solid spruce/acacia tenor ukulele really is something special.

Millar build their ukuleles in Taiwan. Their budding, family run workshop of builders create ukuleles that push the limits of what kind of quality you can expect to get at this price. The feel and looks of these instruments are reminiscent of Pono, Big Island and Imua ukuleles. Both the wood chosen and clean attention to detail is a noticeable step or two up from ukuleles in the price category. This tenor is a really good, affordable alternative to Rebels and Opios.

The SP-260W offers a very modern ukulele combination of a solid spruce top with acacia back and sides. The tone it produces is lovely and clear, direct with lots of attack but the acacia sound reigns in some of the 'honkier' frequencies and keeps things nice and calm. It really is a dream combination for those that want a tenor ukulele to sound a little bit more like James Hill's Da Silva than say Jake Shimabukuro's Kamaka.

The acacia looks awesome too! No disrespect to the big brands like Pono out there but this wood is just divine on the eyes and the sound is a delight on the ears.

Finally, this model has a slotted headstock with some gorgeous antiqued machineheads and cream buttons. I, for one, am in love with the front binding combination of figured maple and a two tone rope effect to really bind those contrasting looking side woods together seamlessly.
