Pono UL-1 Solid Acacia Short Scale Terz Steel Strung Guitar free case

We are privileged at the Southern Ukulele Store to meet and greet some absolutely fantastic instruments on quite a regular basis. As other Guitalele players out there know - You really aren't spoilt for choice at the professional end of the market. However, I think Pono may have just changed the game with this new take on an old instrument.

The Pono UL series are a Steel strung Terz-Guitar inspired short scale Guitar. Tuned to G in the standard Guitar/Guitalele way (G,C,F,Bb,D,G) with the supplied 11 gauge acoustic strings, it sounds just heavenly with very accurate intonation, and equally, a capo on the second fret will give you the A to A standard Guitalele tuning. It is evident the instrument performs at its best in G though, as this really makes the little Terz come alive with the right balance between treble and bass, and a definite sweet spot in the tone.

This guitar will likely appeal to guitarists who want the shorter scale length and higher G tuning, and perhaps the greater portability of the Terz guitar - without having to go all the way down to Guitalele size.
