Pono MD-20 8 String Octave Mandolin/Tenor Guitar w/Hard Case
The Pono MD-20 has been out of stock in its various guises for nearly two years...we're delighted to have our hands back on them! This instrument is a fantastic step into the folk music world for Pono who have always made fantastic guitars in addition to their well known ukuleles.
This 8 string steel strung tenor guitar is tuned GDAE like a mandolin but an octave lower. It's perfect for Irish folk music and a fantastic addition to any band.
The scale length is 21.4'' and the instrument is firmly braced and built like a guitar (it would need to be to handle the tension of 8 strings). The influence behind this instrument is the Martin tenor guitars of the late 1920s.
