Pono are rightly highly regarded for their 8 string ukuleles. Our best selling quality 8 string for the last decade has been the mahogany sister of this one, the MT-8. However, Pono are now using acacia to make them, and it brings a really lovely difference to the sound. Acacia has a stronger chime in the mid range, and a slightly brighter treble than Mahogany, so it cuts through the mix a little more than the Mahogany.
The normal high standards of Pono build quality shine through here. With the truss rod in the neck, we can get the setup just so, with a nice easy to play action at the nut and up the neck, so you can play in all positions in great comfort.
