Made in China, these are the intermediate level Kanile'a. Made to the same exacting standards as the expensive Hawaiian koa models, these Islanders have a unique charm all of their own. The mahogany laminate makes a very smooth and creamy sound across the entire register, making for a mellow strumming sound which sounds very nice fingerpicked as well. Certainly a cut above other Tenors at the same price!
The Islander MT-4GPU features Ivoroid top and back binding and a gorgeous ablam rosette. Most importantly it is factory fitted with a Kanile'a active pickup and preamp.
With a great pickup and a wider fingerboard (at 38mm) than the norm to boot, this may be the ukulele you have been looking for!
