aNueNue AMM3 Africa Mahogany III Tenor Ukulele All Solid Mahogany w/gigbag
The African mahogany tenor ukuleles from aNueNue are a beautiful hybrid of sorts. I don't know if it is the light build or the gloss finish but they sound completely different to what I was expecting with a lovely amount of sharpness and clarity all the way up the fretboard that you don't really expect from mahogany. The concerts beg to be picked as much as they do strummed and the tenor retains the same qualities meaning we have one dynamic boisterous instrument on our hands.
All of the other little touches are there too. Bone nut and saddle, aNueNue's own brand machineheads are fantastic and aNueNue's own brand clearwater ukulele strings are crisp and match the mighty lightweight punch of the ukulele. The gloss finish I mentioned earlier is lovely and light and reminds me of other premium brands like Kamaka and Takumi which can only be high praise!
African mahogany is rich in aesthetics and this is no different. This aNueNue tenor ukulele is just a cocktail of excellent ingredients and with the thinner neck profile; may be a good alternative to a high end Pono and can certainly give other brands a run for their money.
Solid African mahogany body
Rosewood bridge and fretboard
Buffalo bone nut and saddle
Geared machine heads
aNueNue clear water strings
Abalone wood rosette
Pictures show an average example. These ukuleles are all very consistent looking, and all very stunning!
It has been several years since we first sampled the aNueNue range of ukuleles and boy have they come on leaps and bounds. A company that not too long ago sat as a nice alternative to an Ohana, Kala or Islander ukulele, is now producing some truly gorgeous professional level ukuleles.
